The Benjamin Bloom Hospital (Hospital Nacional de Ni\u00f1os Benjam\u00edn Bloom) and Sana mi Coraz\u00f3n Foundation gave a warm welcome to Heart Care International volunteers when they arrived in San Salvador for the first time in 2005. Since then, Heart Care International has built a strong and highly committed relationship with the Bloom Hospital and Sana mi Coraz\u00f3n, weathering changes in the government as well as in hospital directors and administrators.<\/p>\n

In addition to offering life-saving medical treatments to needy children, Heart Care International has provided a fully trained pediatric cardiovascular anesthesiologist to the Bloom Hospital and offered practical and theoretical training to the Bloom Hospital surgeons, perfusionists and nurses. The pediatric heart program at the Bloom Hospital has greatly improved its quality of service and will continue to do so as the HCI partnership transitions to a mentorship role.<\/p>\n
